The performance and heater life depends upon its ability to transfer heat from the resistance windings to the cylinder quickly and evenly.Application Band heaters are extensively used on smooth steel nozzles, barrels of plastic molding, and extruding machines, on pipes and other cylindrical surfaces. Maximum sheath temperature is 750 � degrees Fahrenheit.Features 
Clamping
A low-expansion stainless steel clamping band provides uniform fit (eliminating air gaps) and assures maximum heat distribution. This also means the hotter the job, the tighter the fit.Sheath
Corrosion resistant specially treated steel sheath has good conductivity and high emissivity characteristics to efficiently transmit heat from the electrical winding to the cylinder.Ribbon Element
A high quality Nickel-Chromium resistor wire is evenly wound on a selected high temperature mica to provide even distributed heat to the cylinder.Mica
It has extremely high dielectric strength, low electric loss, high surface and volume resistivities, excellent thermal stability, and high shear and tensile strength. It is completely inert to most chemicals and conforms to cylinder without cracking. It is fireproof and non-flammable.Termination
Sturdy terminal post design standard on AKINSUN mica band heaters will not break down electrically under normal torque applied during tightening connections. Post terminals (screw thread size is 10-32) are securely fastened to the windings for a positive, trouble free connection.
